“The spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control…” (Galatians 5:22-23)
In the third century a great leader wrote to a friend and said, “This seems to be a cheerful world, when I view it from this fair garden…but if I climb some great mountain and looked out…you knew very well what I would see. Soldiers on the high road, pirates on the seas and the amphitheaters where men murder to the applause of the crowd.”
“Yet in the midst of all of this, I have found a quiet and holy people….they are despised and persecuted, but they care not. They have overcome the world. These people, my beloved friend are Christians.”
What a wonderful comment, “A quiet and holy people.” Quiet …. not loud, not boastful, not demanding. Just quiet. Holy …. set apart. Pure. Descent. Honest and Christ-like.
Dear friend, this should be our challenge in our daily life to be set apart and known by all who come in contact with us that we are Christ like in every way. A true Christian.
